Background

The company was established in 1991 and over the time it evolved into the largest flight school in Czech Republic and Slovakia. They provide quality flight training in all fixed-wing aircraft, including microlights, gliders, single and multi-engine airplanes. They were the first flight school to be JAR-FCL 1 certified in the country and is approved for a full range of modular and integrated courses.

Before FLIGHT OPERATION SYSTEM

The business of F AIR developed faster than its administrative and IT capabilities. Flight scheduling and dispatching, record keeping, invoicing, flight training and other functions were kept manually, with only minor help of computer systems, using off-the-shelf database software. Significant human resources were allocated to administrative tasks and dispatching, but without proper oversight and quality control. As a result, many errors were made and went undetected, harming the company and its business.
Finally, track of the internal processes was almost completely lost, keeping the company alive by inertia, but without ability to actively manage flight operations, training activities, maintenance, finance and administration. A new integrated information system, custom made for aviation businesses, was the only option to recover the company from an approaching disaster.

Today

The FOS was tested by F AIR from January 1, 2004 and is in live operation since March 2004. Thanks to a full integration of flight scheduling, pilot and instructor scheduling, dispatch and flight logging, record keeping and finance, the time at which a flight is being converted into cash was reduced from months to minutes. Records are no more getting lost or delayed, all important logbook entries are automatic, paperwork is dramatically reduced. The FOS is connected with the NORIS accounting software for instant download of operational data.
